I'm always so fascinated with kiss-the-thunder's work! So I've decided to color in a piece of her line art.

Although, being an obsessive anime fan, I have not heard of Revolutionary Girl Utena until I saw the line art in kiss-the-thunder's gallery. I had to do my research in order to figure out her hair color, eye color, etc. I didn't know what color the ring was suppose to be though, so I made it yellow :dummy:

I even listened to some of the music from the anime while working on this. You know, I'm actually considering giving this show a shot ^^

Anyway's, I hope you all like this. I needed to practice my shading anyway :la:

Wow this is amazing! I'm a huge fan of Utena myself (and I think...if I remember correctly, Rach introduced it to me too!) And for someone who isn't familiar with Utena and her show, this is very very reminiscent of the exact color/style of coloring!

You and *kiss-the-thunder make an excellent team. I just adore the coloring on the hair and the shading of it just drew my eye immediantly. I love how the shine looks like a soft glow on the hair, and not an absence of color, like it can look if done incorrectly. I fell in love with the glow on the ring! :D The rose shading is just to die for!

You should be very proud of this coloring. Whether it was for practice or not, I can tell you had a lot of fun and your love for Thunder's artwork shows clearly here.

thank you so much! i've never felt so complimented in all my life! this is the first time i've ever liked my shading. but i think it's because Racheal's (did i spell her name correctly?) is more advanced than me. she knows a lot more about hair and anatomy, and since i'm still learning about logic, my shading doesn't look good with my line art some times. so when i shaded something kiss-the-thunder drew, it made me understand it more. does that make any sense? because it sounded good in my head, but then i couldn't get it into words XD
but anyways, thanks for the wonderful compliment! it really means a lot! i hear a lot of "that's really cool!" and "good job" comments, but i don't normally get a compliment from someone who takes the time to say how they really feel :D

Oh my n_n That's sweet of you to feel so complimented and be so grateful for my comment.

I completely understand what you mean. It's because of the smooth nature of Rach's lineart and even though her style of hair is gorgeous, it's not so complicated that you don't know what to color or how. It's always perfect for coloring.

<3 I'm so glad I was able to make you feel important. Everyone deserves an extensive comment now and then. Every artist ought to feel like something they've done was worth the effort and hard work. <3
